The Tactic

When was the last time someone sent you a handwritten note? With the advent of emailing, Facebook, Instagram, Zoom calls, handwritten notes stand out and make a big impression. Combine this simple strategy with a consistent schedule and you may find your client list double in size. One way to stand out from all the noise online is to ADD offline communication. And one of the most underutilized and simplest ways to be remarkable offline is to send hand-written note cards of your own. Handwritten notes make the recipient feel special and show that you took extra time out of your day to think about them. As long as the design of these cards is professional, any visual style will work. These can be specially made cards branded to you or simply regular, blank note cards. What’s important is that you make a personal touch and reach out. The tactic is to send 3 hand-written note cards every day for 7 days - 21 cards total. Moving forward, it’s smart to get in the habit of sending at least 15 cards a month.

Who to send cards to

Be strategic. Sending cards isn’t random. Think who you want to deepen your connections with and which contacts could lead to a sale. Possible people who you should send cards to include: • Prospects • Buyers (Past and Present) • Referral Sources • Colleagues • Event Attendees • Etc.

What Kind of Note Cards

Keep it simple. Don’t get bogged down into making custom cards if that could slow you down from just doing this task as soon as possible. You can get nice art cards from Amazon, or the dollar store… Who to Send Cards to What Kind of Note Cards More Than OK Club © 2020 Driven Inc. 4 Or you can create a custom, branded note card. You can have it designed inexpensively at Fiverr (https://www.fiverr.com/). Then you can have it printed at VistaPrint (https://www.vistaprint.com/).

What to Say

The idea isn’t to do a hard sell with your note cards. They are meant to deepen your connections and stand out. Come from a place of service and support. Invite people to reach out to you if it’s appropriate. For example: “Hey Jane, I love the post you did recently on Facebook with the ________. It made me think of that time we _______. I want to let you know I’m here for you. If you need any support during this crazy time with [Your area of expertise], feel free to reach out with me. We all have to stick together, right?! Sincerely, [Your name] Make it personal. People will appreciate a little humor and fun - especially now. You can also include a simple, thoughtful gift that fits in the envelope. It could be a favorite recipe, a tips sheet, an article, a funny comic, a thin magnet, etc. Think back to the days before the internet when we actually wrote letters to each other! If you did that in the past, what fun, cool things did you slip in the envelopes? Try those same things again now. You can also use a hand-written note card to confirm an upcoming phone call with a lead you’ve been in contact with. What to Say More Than OK Club © 2020 Driven Inc. 7
