Module 4 Collaboration Challenge
Grow your visibility, social media following and email list by collaborating with 4-5 other people that promote you and you promote them.
The Tactic
One of the smartest ways to get more leads even if you don’t have a big email list and/or social media following is to collaborate with a small handful of others to cross-promote each other. We call it the Collaboration Circle. This is one of the best ways to grow your list organically and be seen by the perfect leads for your business. These are the kinds of folks that have been waiting for your services, but they just don’t know you exist yet. Chances are, you have people on your list that are waiting for that perfect person too. That’s where your Collaboration Circle comes together to promote each other all at the same time for about a week. As you step into the spotlight, your message will be seen by over FOUR TIMES the audience that your email list usually garners. A Collaboration Circle has two big benefits for you: 1. You might only have an email list of 500 people but if 4 other people with lists around 500 people promote you for a week, then you get seen by over 2,000 people. You multiplied your visibility by 4 times in one swoop. Grow your visibility, social media following and email list by collaborating with 4-5 other people that promote you and you promote them.
2. If you’re promoting other cool people consistently, it elevates your authority because if you know all these cool, talented folks, you must be one yourself! By doing strategic collaborations, you will find that big breakthroughs in your business can happen. For example, new leads, new opportunities, new audiences, and more. Gather a crew, write some incredible copy, and watch your leads grow!
Action Steps
1. Organize a group of 4-5 people to form a Collaboration Circle. These should be people who, more or less:
a. Have a similar market as you. (Your topics might be different and that’s fine. But as long as your buyers and their buyers are somewhat similar types of people.)
b. Have a similar reach as you. (Maybe one person has a bigger email list but a smaller social media reach and vice versa.)
2. Everyone in the group must commit to promoting every other person in the group. No skipping a promotion. Make sure you are okay promoting every one in the group before you agree to join. Everyone in the group will promote one member in the Collaboration Circle all the same week. Then take a week off from promoting others and promote yourself. Then every one promotes another member the following week. Here’s what the promotion calendar can look like: Action Steps
- Week 1 Everyone Promotes Person A (Week 2 - Week off to promote yourself to your audience.)
- Week 3 Everyone promotes Person B - Week 2 Week off to promote yourself
- Week 3 Everyone promotes Person C. Week 4 Week off to promote yourself
- Week 5 Everyone promotes Person E
- Week 6 Week off to promote yourself
- Week ;7 Promote
- Week 8 Off. etc.
3. The type of promotion can vary. Ideally, everyone sends an email promoting that person, regardless of your email list size. You can also promote on social media and with personal referrals. You decide in advance with your Collaboration Circle what channels you all agree to promote each other.
4. Decide what you will offer during the week you are in the promotion spot light. Possible things to offer include: a. Facebook Challenge b. Facebook Live Series c. Webinar d. Lead Magnet e. Sales Call
5. With your group lock down your collective promotion schedule, what each person will offer, and how each member will promote. Use the worksheet in the next page to help you organize. .

What to Say
The idea isn’t to do a hard sell with your note cards. They are meant to deepen your connections and stand out. Come from a place of service and support. Invite people to reach out to you if it’s appropriate. For example: “Hey Jane, I love the post you did recently on Facebook with the ________. It made me think of that time we _______. I want to let you know I’m here for you. If you need any support during this crazy time with [Your area of expertise], feel free to reach out with me. We all have to stick together, right?! Sincerely, [Your name] Make it personal. People will appreciate a little humor and fun - especially now. You can also include a simple, thoughtful gift that fits in the envelope. It could be a favorite recipe, a tips sheet, an article, a funny comic, a thin magnet, etc. Think back to the days before the internet when we actually wrote letters to each other! If you did that in the past, what fun, cool things did you slip in the envelopes? Try those same things again now. You can also use a hand-written note card to confirm an upcoming phone call with a lead you’ve been in contact with. What to Say More Than OK Club © 2020 Driven Inc. 7
